Addict to a Neurocycle Facilitator

Here is a powerful and deeply personal experience:

I often asked myself "Why me, why can't I stop?"  I used drugs on and off for 40 years but for the last 17 years of use, I was addicted to crack cocaine.  Hah, me a loving mother, a good wife, and a strong-willed person.  Not quite.  I was mentally, emotionally, and physically abused and I was diagnosed with Major Depressive disorder.  My escape from all traumas and emotional pain was gone when I picked up my drug.  One day the emotional pain became greater than the high.  My mind was chaotic and out of control. I couldn't take it anymore. 

 As I was driving and listening to worship music one day my brain was in a state of relaxation and positivity. However, passing by a familiar area associated with past drug use, combined with having money on hand, triggered and activated a craving-conditioned response. I asked God "What is it that I could be worshipping you and all of a sudden be at the drug house? What happens in the brain that tiny spot where you are engaged with the self-talk?"  God answered my prayer, and I now know the answer.

My journey began with a mental health therapist who told me "I can control my thoughts".  God transformed and renewed my mind through the Holy Spirit. One day I went to church and the woman was teaching on Dr. Caroline Leaf.  I stood up and shouted, "I am a walking testimony of her work" God did it!   I was able to identify toxic thoughts (fear-based thinking) and change them to healthy thoughts (faith-based thinking).  I call this "Divine Transformational Thinking".  My mind changed, my belief system changed, and I began to mentally and physically heal. 

What a beautiful feeling of freedom! Here I am thinking that I burned my brain cells and thought I would never amount to anything. I decided to return to college and graduated with an Addiction and Organizational Management Degree in 2013. God showed me differently.    Today, I am trained by, Dr. Caroline Leaf, a communication pathologist, audiologist, clinical and research neuroscientist with a master's and PhD in Communication Pathology. Dr. Leaf has played a major role in my recovery for 15 years and I am one of her Neurocycle Facilitators

Going through the Neurocycle was one of the best choices I made. It helped me acknowledge the factors that kept me trapped with embedded memories. By reconceptualizing those thoughts and changing my perspective, I felt empowered for the first time to learn I could control my thoughts.

My deepest passion is to walk alongside you. To find your true identity, the perfect you, made in the image of God.  Experience Divine Transformational Thinking of a renewed mind. Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that may prove what that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God is.”
